In my seasonally driven world, I seek out beauty; It has always been the driving force... Beauty has allowed me to cultivate a life that walks in varied and diverse realms. As winter closes in, I cozy up and turn to my jewellery bench, just in front of the wood stove. Then, as the weather warms, I open again to the larger world. One of surface treatments, artefact conservation, museums and heritage sites. A bridge between the jewellery and conservation worlds can be shown in museum mount making...
I am starting to chronicle some of these projects here... under 'conservation and heritage'.
In the past I have written about my jewellery practice: "Jewellery can serve the purpose of ceremony. It informs others of our celebrations. It helps us mark a personal triumph. It symbolizes a passage, to the next level, or through one of life's challenges. An outward expression, or an inner reminder of our strengths when we need it most. It is a talisman. A trophy. It is deeply personal, and never trivial. I want to help you celebrate your next triumph."
My focus is on one-of-a-kind works, but I have also done limited-edition production of successful designs.
When time allows I open my bench to private commissions. If you have an important rite of passage to celebrate, or an idea that you'd like to see come to life, please reach out to discuss a bespoke design collaboration.
